Filmways Radio [Hollywood] 1975-1978 - music dir
Now: Verna says (2/07), "If this site is only for on-air personalities, then I shouldn't have signed up; mostly, I was a music director or talent coordinator; I spent six years in radio (mostly in Los Angeles) from about 1971 to 1978. I am now a Clinical Social Worker at Patton State Hospital (for the forensic mentally ill), Patton, California. I still have hundreds of record albums and 45s from my old radio days; even have some reel-to-reel tapes of some of the radio shows we did." Click for more from Verna.

Capital Radio [Valletta, Malta] 1996

Now: Alex says (2/07), "Here we are, in Malta, enjoying every minute of radio presenting; my top two shows are REFLEX (The 80s Show), a 3.5 hrs every Saturday morning and SHAFT (70s) every Sunday night; I also present drive times on Mon, Wed and Fri so it's quite a lot considering that it's part-time; and I'm a DJ and promoter of 80s disco parties (definitely the biggest in Europe) attended by over 3000 people (more info on reflexmalta.com). I've been a fan of the Duran Duran since 1981; in 2004, I took a group of 55 Maltese Duran Duran fans over to London to catch the band live -- little did I know that once I'm in London, the band's PR man shall contact me to ask if I'd like to meet the band members and interview them backstage before the concert (photos and whole story is on reflexmalta.com)."

Now: Peter says (11/07), "I'm living in Northern Westchester, doing freelance VOs, medical/technical narration, training films, books on tape and professional photography since the mid 1970s; I really enjoy the challenge of bringing the written word to life; photography allows me the freedom to create and the opportunity to seek and share the beauty of people and nature in visually compelling images; communication is what it's all about. Radio was really exciting during the heyday of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll in the 1960s and 1970s; after that it became a job being confined to a little room, talking to myself and watching the seconds of my life tick away punctuated by station breaks, news, commercials and weather; I had to get out and smell the roses -- that's when I began to get serious about photography, which had been a hobby since forever; I literally grew up in a darkroom by my father's side as he developed pictures (it was junior high school before I realized that not everyone got up from the dinner table and went downstairs to develop pictures); having cut my teeth on Rolleiflexes and SpeedGraphics with 'normal' lenses, I rediscovered the magic in the box with a Nikon camera with wide angle and telephoto lenses; I have never looked back except to enjoy where I have been and I continue to look forward and find beauty and joy all around me."
