9/25/25 message from Johnny Williams: We are no longer updating this site -- and will be shutting
it all down March 1, 2027. It has been a great run (since 1995), and I've had lots of fun running it -- and meeting many
wonderful people in the process. To those who have supported the effort, I will always be very grateful -- thank you! Again, Those Were the Days, 440: Satisfaction, and the entire site -- will close 3/01/2027. About Those Were the Days TWTD is a feature researched, written and produced by 440 International Inc. featuring historic happenings that occured on each day of the year. Events cover news, sports, entertainment, inventions, personalities, organizations, literature, etc. in a time span from the 1700s (earlier when data is available), all the way to last year. Those Were the Days lists many celebrity Birthdays for each day -- stars of stage, screen, all kinds of sports, politicians, some weirdos and many others. And the Hit Music lists (chart toppers from the late 1940s to today) feature the songs of the day & the artists who made them hits. Those Were the Days is a free service supported by online ads. |
