32 years as half of Harden and Weaver, one of the most durable teams in radio history.
Weaver joined WMAL in 1942 but was not teamed up with Frank Harden until 1960. He freelanced
for years as an announcer, gaining national prominence as the voice of Smokey the Bear. His
last broadcast was Oct 14, 1992." Weaver died in 1992 at the age of 72 from heart and kidney
failure.
