KERE,
Denver
Bill Harris (Bill Hartley)
writes: KERE, at 710 AM, was the
first serious challenger to KLAK-AM and FM (now KYGO
and KWMX-FM respectively). KLAK was the top country
station for many years. Neither station ultimately
survived, although now KYGO plays country as sister
station to tremendously successful KYGO-FM,
owned by Jefferson Pilot.
